Our Experts who do the work to fix your watches and clocks
Rich MinickRich Minick always loved mechanical things. At an early age, he was tearing apart radios, lawnmowers, and anything else his father would let Rich have. His mechanical abilities continued into his late teen years when Rich was hired at Doubleday & Co, makers of “The Book of the Month Club”, as an apprentice machinist. At Doubleday, Rich helped service the printing press, machining replacement parts for the mechanism as needed. He joined the Navy intending to take the rate of Machinist Mate, but his test scores sent him into the advanced mechanical field of Instrument Man (IM). Though the rate and school are no longer part of the Navy, Rich still holds the record for the fastest time to graduate the self-paced IM A-School--57 ½ days. The Navy is also where he learned watch & clock repair, training under a master Navy watchmaker. After leaving the Navy, Rich went on to work at the Kennedy Space Center where he did mechanical calibration and was the project watchmaker for 14 years. Moving to Ohio, Rich worked for a Rolex dealer where he received training in the manufacturer’s specifications of Rolex repairs and is fully versed in their servicing and repair. He now expertly fixes most any brand of watch made.
